About Me

Hi! My name is Aileen Moran.  I am a mother of four kids, I have been a teacher with Westerville City Schools since 1989, I received my Masters in Reading and Literature in 1994 from OSU, and became a reading specialist in 1999.

The best thing about my job is watching kids grow into being successful readers. I noticed, though, that there were often a few students that even with the best reading strategy interventions in place, continued to struggle.  So, I went back to the classroom and received Orton-Gillingham training.  During the year-long training, I completed 100 hours of supervised tutoring for students with dyslexia.  The training changed everything about how I teach all kinds of students to read.
